More Changes . . .

After my 1992 Canyon Ranch visit, I returned to “real life” and the daily job of raising two daughters, managing a division of a major cable TV network, being a decent wife, friend, daughter and sister.  Time flew by . . . at least that’s the way it seems now!

In 2004, after 20 years at my company the time came for us to part ways.  Like many transitions, initially this was very scary.  After all, I did not even have a resume.  I hadn’t looked for work since 1984.  Where to begin?  Like so many times in my life, an opportunity presented itself in the form of an offer extended to me (and actually all of us) at a Second Shift gathering (an organization that no longer exists but was pivotal to so many of us “women with children working outside the home”).  That evening in February 2004 our speaker was a Life Coach.  I had never heard of that as a profession but I was intrigued by the chance to complete an online assessment and was even more excited to receive my 20-page personalized report.  At the end of the presentation, the coach offered us a free session.  Knowing that things were changing at my corporation, presciently I took advantage of that offer.  It changed my life.

In just four sessions, I went from knowing exactly what I did not want, to identifying spa, food, travel and a pursuit of the mind/body connection as areas of passion that I wanted to incorporate into my next career move.

Those who know me, know that the universe provided.  At the time, I thought this was a miracle.  I still do but I know now that with the right amount of “work” and focus, it is possible to manifest what one really wants in life.  I also know that the one constant is change.
